DO YOU KNOW YOUR RIGHTS?
WE DO!
WE WILL FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS!
Issues regarding security deposits, leases and other issues are carefully spelled out in various laws and ordinances in Chicago and Evanston. We are prepared to review these matters with you. Many of these laws and ordinances provide for the reimbursement of attorney's fees and court costs if you are able to prove your case.
If you would like to make an appointment for free consultation about a problem with a landlord in Chicago or Evanston feel free to call us at 312-644-1000 or click below to find our on line questionnaire. Print out the questionnaire and call our office at 312-644-1000 to make an appointment for a free consultation. We put our promises in writing in ALL cases. You will have a written fee agreement spelling out in detail exactly what our agreement is. Court costs in cases with claims of up to $5,000.00 are approximately $250.00 and in cases with claims of over $5,000.00, the court costs average approximately $300.00. In the event that we are successful in your case at a trial, some or all of the attorney's fee and court costs may be added by the Judge to the amount recovered by law.
If your landlord has withheld your security deposit, locked you out of your apartment, failed to pay you interest on your security deposit, failed to provide you with a receipt for your security deposit, commingled your security deposit in the same account with the landlord's personal money or in the same account with the rent payments, entered your apartment without fair notice or otherwise seriously failed to maintain the apartment in a reasonable living condition, we want to speak with you. These ordinances apply to the rental of apartments, condominiums, houses and hotel rooms unless the building is occupied by the landlord and is six units or less.
